Half Hog (Approximately 40-60 lbs meat):  $2.75/lb

Whole Hog (Approximately 80-120 lbs meat):  $2.75/lb

Ham, Ribs (Spare and Country Style), Pork Chops, Ham Steaks:  $3.25/lb

In addition to processing that of others, we raise much of our own poultry. We enjoy being able to provide farm-fresh chickens for those who don't have the desire or facilities to raise their own poultry meat.  Magnus and Krissy purchase our chickens at several days of age from several different suppliers and raise them until they are approximately 8 weeks of age. At this point, they are butchered in our processing building and available for sale through Nelson Shine Produce. If farm fresh poultry is something that you are interested in, we have frozen chickens available for purchase as well.  This is all done under inspection by the state, which allows us to sell our meat to you.  Please see below for available meat prices.

 

Pork is available for purchase as either a half or whole hog, or for those who simply don't have the freezer space it is available in pieced packages as well. The pigs were purchased as feeders from a local hog breeder/seller, and finished by Nick and Gretchen.  They were not given any antibiotics or hormones, and were raised on corn and grain feed.  If you are interested in purchasing pork, please contact Nick and Gretchen.

 

 

 

We have several farm-raised steers for sale at any time.  Our steers are Angus-Gelbvieh Cross and  were purchased from a local farmer as feeder calves. They have been raised by Nick and Gretchen free from hormones or antibiotics.  All of our steers are fed corn silage and dry distillers grain, and have mineral blocks available at all times. We pride ourselves in keeping them happy and healthy.  It is our opinion that happy and healthy animals will provide a better product for our customers.  And, as always, we strive to have all of our products be the best. 

The steers are finished out to 600-800 pounds hanging weight and upon request by a customer, taken to slaughter at Lakes Area Meats (previously Stuffy's) in Hillman.  We have been extremely happy with their processing job as it is done custom to each customer's request and needs.  Once slaughtered, the carcass is allowed to hang for 10 days prior to processing, and then picked up by us and delivered to you.  Beef price is $2.60 per pound of hanging weight, and includes processing, wrapping, and delivery to you (if desired) within 30 miles. 

We also take steers to Meyer's Meats in Nevis, MN.  They do processing under inspection, which allows us to sell individual packages of meat to our customers, instead of just bulk amounts.  We are very excited to be able to offer this as an option!
